PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device that can efficiently distribute image information particularly in a railway vehicle, in an environment in which a plurality of image display devices are connected with a circuit that can transfer image information.SOLUTION: There is provided one of a plurality of image display devices connected via a network, the image display device reading image information recorded in a portable storage medium to be inserted therein and display/distribution information on display and distribution of the image information, serving as a master when the display/distribution information includes update information and distributing the image information stored in the portable storage medium to other image display devices or serving as a slave when the display/distribution information does not include the update information, receiving the image information distributed from the master and recording the image information in its portable storage medium, and serving as a sub-master when the image information distributed from the master and the image information stored therein are synchronized, distributing the image information stored in its portable storage medium, and displaying the image information stored in its portable storage medium. 【課題】画像情報を伝送可能な回線に複数の画像表示装置が接続された環境において、特に鉄道車両において効率的に画像情報を配信する画像表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】ネットワークで接続された複数の画像表示装置の一つであって、挿入される可搬型記憶媒体に記録された画像情報と該画像情報の表示及び配信に関する表示・配信情報を読み出し、該表示・配信情報にアップデート情報が含まれる場合はマスターになって他の画像表示装置に向けて前記可搬型記憶媒体に蓄えられた画像情報を配信し、又は、前記アップデート情報が無い場合はスレーブになって前記マスターが配信する画像情報を受信して自らの可搬型記録媒体に記録し、前記マスターから配信される画像情報と自らの有する画像情報の同期が取れた場合は、自らがサブマスターとなって自らの可搬型記憶媒体に蓄えられた画像情報を配信するとともに前記可搬型記憶媒体に記録された画像情報を表示する。【選択図】図１
