Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform sufficiently sensitive X-ray detection with a low cost configuration.SOLUTION: An X-ray detection device (1) comprises: a phosphor (22) containing a trivalent samarium ion that is reduced from trivalent to divalent when irradiated with X-rays; a photoexcitation emission light source (11) irradiating the phosphor (22) with a laser beam (11a) of a first wavelength for exciting the samarium; a Si photodetector (12) receiving light generated from the divalent samarium photoexcited by the laser beam (11a) and having a second wavelength longer than the first wavelength; and detection means (C3) for detecting irradiation of X-rays based on the light received by the Si photodetector (12).
