Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a polarization angle at a fixed magnification.SOLUTION: A polarimeter 1 uses a blazed diffraction grating having an approximate Littrow arrangement as a polarization angle expansion part 10. The Littrow arrangement is an arrangement in which incident light 100 has the same direction as diffracted light 200, and light having order enhancing the diffraction efficiency can be used as the diffracted light 200. The diffracted light 200 having a polarization angle of the incident light 100 expanded at a fixed magnification by the polarization angle expansion part 10 is formed and outputted, and the polarization angle of the diffracted light 200 is measured by a polarization angle detector 20. 【課題】偏光角度を一定の倍率で拡大する。【解決手段】この偏光計1においては、偏光角度拡大部10として、略リトロー配置とされたブレーズド回折格子が用いられる。リトロー配置とは、入射光100と回折光200とが同じ方向となる配置であり、この回折効率が高くなる次数の光を回折光200とすることができる。偏光角度拡大部10によって入射光100における偏光角度が一定の倍率で拡大された回折光200となって出力され、回折光200の偏光角度が偏光角度検出部20で測定される。【選択図】図1
