Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the use of a function that depends on a bi-directional communication with a real printer.SOLUTION: An information processing device that performs printout by using a real printer includes: a printer driver that generates print data on the basis of image data received from an application; a virtual printer that receives the print data and performs control of output to the real printer. The virtual printer includes: acquisition means that communicates with the real printer to obtain information on the real printer; and transmission means that transmits the print data on the basis of the information on the real printer. The printer driver executes rendering processing to the image data on the basis of the information on the real printer which is obtained via the virtual printer, to generate print data. 【課題】実プリンタとの間の双方向通信に依存した機能の利用を可能にする。【解決手段】実プリンタを用いて印刷出力する情報処理装置において、アプリケーションから受信した画像データに基づいて印刷データを生成するプリンタドライバと、印刷データを受信し実プリンタへの出力制御を行う仮想プリンタと、を有する。仮想プリンタは、実プリンタと通信し該実プリンタの情報を取得する取得手段と、実プリンタの情報に基づいて、前記印刷データを送信する送信手段と、を有する。プリンタドライバは、仮想プリンタを介して取得した実プリンタの情報に基づいて画像データに対してレンダリング処理を実行し印刷データを生成する。【選択図】図１
