Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase discharge stability by a boost pulse.SOLUTION: In a multidrop type ink jet head where a driving pulse alternately including a positive pulse of electrical voltage +V, and a negative pulse of electrical voltage -V is applied to an actuator so as to generate pressure oscillation in an ink chamber, and a plurality of ink drops are continuously discharged from the ink chamber by the pressure oscillation, a boost pulse to be applied to the actuator before the driving pulse for preliminarily vibrating the ink chamber is a pulse of an electrical voltage for generating in the actuator an electrical field of a half of an electric potential difference between a positive pulse and a negative pulse. 【課題】 ブーストパルスによる吐出安定性を高める。【解決手段】 電圧+Vの正パルスと電圧−Vの負パルスとを交互に含む駆動パルスをアクチュエータに印加してインク室に圧力振動を生じさせ、この圧力振動によりインク室から複数のインク滴を連続して吐出させるマルチドロップ方式のインクジェットヘッドにおいて、駆動パルスの前にアクチュエータに印加してインク室を予備振動させるブーストパルスを、アクチュエータに正パルスと負パルスとの電位差の半分の電界が生じる電圧のパルスとする。【選択図】 図12
