Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device, a recording device, and an image processing method that can suppress recording density unevenness.SOLUTION: There is provided an image processing device for a recording device that records an image on a recording medium by relatively moving a recording head having a discharge port array constituted by arraying discharge ports and the recording medium applied with ink discharged from the discharge ports, and uses first ink and second ink having higher lightness than the first ink at the same application amount, and the image processing device includes a generation part which generates multi-valued image data through color separation of input image data. With respect to the application amount of the second ink applied to represent predetermined lightness, the generation part generates the multi-valued image data such that the application amount of the second ink to a border part which is a part recorded with discharge ports located at an end of the discharge port array is larger than the application amount of the second ink for a non-border part which is a part other than the border part. 【課題】記録濃度むらを抑制することができる画像処理装置、記録装置、および画像処理方法を提供する。【解決手段】吐出口が配列され構成された吐出口列を有する記録ヘッドと前記吐出口から吐出されたインクが付与される記録媒体とを相対移動させることによって前記記録媒体に画像を記録し、且つ第1のインクおよび同じ付与量において前記第1のインクよりも明度が高い第2のインクを用いる記録装置のための画像処理装置であって、入力画像データを色分解して多値の画像データを生成する生成部を備え、前記生成部は、所定の明度を表現するために付与する前記第2のインクの付与量に関して、前記吐出口列の端部に位置する吐出口によって記録される部分である境界部分に対する前記第2のインクの付与量を、前記境界部分以外の部分である非境界部分に対する前記第2のインクの付与量よりも多くするように、前記多値の画像データを生成する。【選択図】図5
