Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve fuel consumption, drivability, shifting performance, and durability of engagement elements in a vehicle loading a multistage transmission.SOLUTION: An automatic transmission 20 includes a single pinion-type first planetary gear 21, a single pinion-type second planetary gear 22, a single pinion-type third planetary gear 23, a single pinion-type fourth planetary gear 24, clutches C1-C4, and brakes B1, B2, and the first to tenth forward gear stages and a reverse gear stage are formed by engaging three of the clutches C1-C4 and the brakes B1, B2, and releasing the remaining three of them.
