Also provided is a catalyst for polymerizing an olefin such as propylene, comprising the complex, a compound which forms an ion pair by reacting with the complex or an ion-exchanging phyllosilicate, and an organoaluminum compound. 【課題】プロピレンの単独重合において、高い融点を有するホモポリプロピレンを製造できるメタロセン錯体及びそれを用いたオレフィン重合体の製造方法の提供。【解決手段】ジクロロシラシクロブチレンビス[2−(5−メチル−2−フリル)−4−フェニル−1,5,6,7−テトラヒドロ−s−インダセン−1−イル]ジルコニウム、ジクロロシラシクロペンチレンビス[2−(5−メチル−2−フリル)−4−フェニル−1,5,6,7−テトラヒドロ−s−インダセン−1−イル]ジルコニウム等のSiで架橋されたメタロセン錯体。該錯体、該錯体と反応してイオン対を形成する化合物又はイオン交換性層状珪酸塩、及び有機アルミニウム化合物を含むプロピレン等のオレフィン重合用触媒。【選択図】なし
