PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hedge trimmer comprising a trigger which can be operated in the same operation feeling both on a front side and a rear side.SOLUTION: A hedge trimmer that trims a work object by a blade which makes reciprocal movement in a longitudinal direction comprises: a main handle 7 extending in a longitudinal direction; a first switch 10 which controls ON/OFF of the reciprocal movement of the blade; and a trigger 12 which is provided in an extending manner in a longitudinal direction corresponding to a holding range in a longitudinal direction of the main handle 7, and operates ON/OFF of the first switch 10. The trigger 12 is rotatably supported in a direction where a front side and a rear side move in a vertical direction, and when the front side or the rear side of the trigger 12 is operated to rotate, the first switch 10 is operated to ON by a displacement of an approximately central part of the trigger 12 with the rotation. 【課題】前方側と後方側とのいずれでも同じ操作感で操作することができるとトリガを備えたヘッジトリマを提供する。【解決手段】作業対象物を前後方向に往復動するブレードにより剪定するヘッジトリマであって、前後方向に延びるメインハンドル７と、ブレードの往復動をオンオフ制御する第１スイッチ１０と、メインハンドル７の前後方向の把持範囲に対応して前後方向に延伸して設けられ、第１スイッチ１０をオンオフ操作するトリガ１２とを具備し、トリガ１２は、前方側と後方側とが上下方向に移動する向きに回動可能に支持されており、トリガ１２の前方側もしくは後方側が操作されて回動されると、当該回動に伴うトリガ１２の略中央部の変位によって第１スイッチ１０がオン操作される。【選択図】図２
