Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user-friendliness and to further stabilize movement and an attitude of a discharged medium to be recorded.SOLUTION: A recording device comprises: a recording section; a discharge section discharging a recorded medium after recording; and a medium reception section receiving the discharged, recorded medium. The medium reception section includes: a first reception member having a first reception surface; and a second reception member being positioned apart from the first reception member backward in a discharge direction and having a second reception surface. The medium reception section can switch between a first state where the first reception member and the second reception member are inclined with leading end portions directed downward and a second state where an angle of the first reception member and an angle of the second reception member with respect to a horizontal plane are smaller than those thereof in the first state. The medium reception section receives a first recorded medium in the first state when the first recorded medium having a length in the discharge direction greater than a predetermined length is discharged, and receives a second recorded medium in the second state when the second recorded medium having the length smaller than the predetermined length.
