PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make chipping, which may occur due to close contact of two roll members in a rotary cutter for punching a belt-like object to be cut into a required shape, far less liable to occur.SOLUTION: Two rolls are formed from a punch roll and a die roll. The die roll is provided with a recessed die part that has an outline substantially identical in shape to a required shape. The punch roll is provided with a projecting punch part that has an outline larger in shape than the recessed shaped die. Both of the punch roll and die roll are rotated synchronously. The outline of an object being cut sandwiched between the rolls is cut using the overlapping portion of the punch and die. There is no need to supplement the leading end portions of the punch and die, and chipping is far less liable to occur. 【課題】 ２つのロールの部材同士の近接により、帯状の非切断物を所望の形状に打抜くロータリーカッターに発生するチッピングを極めて起こりにくくする。【解決手段】 ２つのロールをパンチロールとダイロールとし、ダイロールには所望の形状と略同形状の輪郭の凹状ダイ部を、パンチロールには凹状ダイよりも一回り大きな輪郭形状の凸状パンチ部を設ける。パンチロールとダイロールの回転同期を取りながら両者を回転させ、間に挟まれた進行中の被切断物の輪郭を、パンチとダイのオーバーラップの部分を利用して切断する。パンチとダイはその先端部分を補足する必要が無く、チッピングがきわめて起こりにくい。【選択図】 図２
