PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device, an image forming apparatus, and a temperature control method with which productivity can be improved.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes: a capacitor 130 that stores power and supplies the stored power; a fixing unit 110 that performs heating using at least one of a first power, which is a power supplied from the capacitor 130 and a second power, which is a power supplied from a source other than the capacitor 130, and fixes an image formed on a recording medium to the recording medium; a cooling unit 120 that cools the fixing unit 110 by using the first power; a temperature detection unit 111 that detects the temperature of the fixing unit 110; and a control unit 180 that controls as to whether to supply the first power from the capacitor 130 to the fixing unit 110 or supply the first power from the capacitor 130 to the cooling unit 120 in response to the detected temperature and a mode to form an image on the recording medium. 【課題】生産性を向上させることができる定着装置、画像形成装置及び温度制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】電力を蓄電し、蓄電した電力を供給するキャパシタ１３０と、キャパシタ１３０から供給される電力である第１電力及びキャパシタ１３０以外から供給される電力である第２電力の少なくとも一方を用いた加熱を行い、記録媒体上に形成された画像を当該記録媒体へ定着させる定着部１１０と、第１電力を用いて、定着部１１０を冷却する冷却部１２０と、定着部１１０の温度を検出する温度検出部１１１と、検出された温度、及び記録媒体上に画像を形成するモードに応じて、キャパシタ１３０から定着部１１０に第１電力を供給するかキャパシタ１３０から冷却部１２０に第１電力を供給するかを制御する制御部１８０と、を備える。【選択図】図１
