Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the effect of a fictions touch "ghost" in touch detection.SOLUTION: A display device includes (a) detecting the presence or absence of noise or adhesion of a water droplet on the basis of currents flowing in a plurality of detection electrodes when a touch panel scanning voltage is supplied to the counter electrode of each of an m number of separate blocks; and (b) assuming that an (m+1) number of counter electrodes are present for the counter electrode of each of the m number of separate blocks, also assuming that a touch panel scanning voltage is supplied, which is synchronized with a touch panel scanning voltage supplied to the counter electrode of each of the m number of blocks, for the (m+1) number of the counter electrodes, and determining on the basis of currents flowing in the detection electrodes whether the presence is noise or a water droplet.
