Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical receptacle which is free from formation of weld-lines on a light path even when through-holes are formed therethrough and is capable of optically coupling a photoelectric conversion element with an optical transmission medium appropriately.SOLUTION: An optical receptacle 120 includes: a cuboid optical receptacle body 121 made of light transmissive resin; a first optical surface on a bottom face; a second optical surface on a first side face 124; a first recessed portion 134 that includes a slope surface 132 for reflecting light entering from the first optical surface toward the second optical surface; a gate portion 135 located on a third side face 126; a first through-hole 136 and second through-hole 137 extending in a direction of an optical axis between the second optical surface and an end face of an optical transmission medium; and a second recessed portion 138 located between the first recessed portion 134 and the third side face 126. A portion of the second recessed portion 138 closest to the second side face 125 is located further on the first side face 124 side than a portion of the gate portion 135 closest to the first side face 124. The first through-hole 136 penetrates through the second recessed portion 138 as well. 【課題】光レセプタクルに貫通孔を形成した場合であっても、光路上にウェルドラインが形成されず、光電変換素子と、光伝送体とを光学的に適切に接続できる光レセプタクルを提供する。【解決手段】光レセプタクル120は、光透過性の樹脂からなる略直方体形状の光レセプタクル本体121と、底面の第1光学面と、第1側面124の第2光学面と、第1光学面で入射した光を第2光学面に向けて反射させる傾斜面132を含む第1凹部134と、第3側面126に配置されたゲート部135と、第2光学面と光伝送体の端面間の光の軸方向に延在した第1貫通孔136および第2貫通孔137と、第1凹部134と第3側面126との間に配置された第2凹部138と、を有する。第2凹部138の最も第2側面125側の部分は、ゲート部135の最も第1側面124側の部分よりも第1側面124側に位置している。第1貫通孔136は、第2凹部138にも開口している。【選択図】図2
