Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braille engraving device that can engrave a braille character clearly and efficiently to sheet pieces of various materials and can be manufactured at low cost in a simple structure.SOLUTION: A braille engraving device comprises a reference plate 20 where a sheet piece S is mounted, a metal convex mold 22 provided with a plurality of salients 22a that form a predetermined braille character on a flat face, and a metal concave mold 26 provided with a plurality of through holes 26a that correspond to the salients 22a. The top of the reference plate 20 comprises a head part 30 provided movably in vertical directions and a drive part 32 that drives the same. Positioning parts 34,36 are provided which position the sheet piece S below the head part 30. The drive part 32 comprises a link mechanism 48 and a toggle mechanism 50 driven by a motor 44, and one end of a link member 46 of the toggle mechanism 50 has the head part 30. The convex mold 22 and the concave mold 26 face each other in a condition of being mounted respectively on the bottom face of the head part 30 or the top face of the reference plate 20, and the head part 30 moves downward to engrave a braille character on the sheet piece S. 【課題】様々な素材のシート片に対し、鮮明にかつ効率よく点字を打刻することができ、構造がシンプルで安価に製作可能な点字打刻装置を提供する。【解決手段】シート片Sが載置される基準板20と、平坦面に所定の点字を形成する複数の凸部22aが設けられた金属製の凸型22と、凸部22aに対応した複数の透孔26aが設けられた金属製の凹型26とを備える。基準板20の上方に上下方向に移動可能に設けられたヘッド部30と、これを駆動する駆動部32とを備える。シート片Sをヘッド部30の下方に位置決めする位置決め部34,36を備える。駆動部32は、モータ44により駆動されるリンク機構48とトグル機構50を備え、トグル機構50のリンク部材46fの一端にヘッド部30を有する。凸型22及び凹型26は、それぞれヘッド部30下面又は基準板20上面に取り付けられた状態で互いに対向し、ヘッド部30が下向きに移動してシート片Sに点字を打刻する。【選択図】図1
