PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet cutting device capable of cutting a sheet selectively in a forward way and a backward way by a cutter unit and also to provide an image formation device capable of performing image recording and sheet cutting simultaneously in arbitrary moving directions.SOLUTION: A sheet cutting device includes: a cutter unit 40 which has a cutter housing 51 provided to move reciprocally along a width of a sheet conveyed in its length direction along a sheet conveyance path Sp and a cutter held by the cutter housing 51, and cuts the sheet by moving along the width of the sheet; and a control circuit 68 which controls the movement of the cutter unit 40. The cutter comprises a cutter 45A as a first cutting blade part which cuts the sheet when cutting of the sheet is directed to one side in the width direction of the sheet, and a cutter 45B as a second cutting blade part which cuts the sheet when the cutting of the sheet is directed to the other side in the width direction of the sheet. 【課題】カッタユニットが往路と復路で選択的にシート切断可能なシート切断装置を提供し、併せて、画像記録とシート切断を任意の移動方向で同時に実行可能な画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】シート搬送路Ｓｐに沿って長さ方向に搬送されるシートに対してそのシート幅方向に往復移動可能に設けられたカッタハウジング５１およびそれに保持されたカッタを有し、そのシート幅方向への移動によってシートを切断するカッタユニット４０と、カッタユニット４０の移動を制御する制御回路６８とを備えたシート切断装置であって、カッタは、シートに対する切込み方向がシート幅方向の一方側に向かうときにシートを切断する第１の切刃部としてのカッタ４５Ａと、切込み方向がシート幅方向の他方側に向かうときにシートを切断する第２の切刃部としてのカッタ４５Ｂとで構成されている。【選択図】図３
