Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve power saving of standby power supplied by a sink apparatus (or a source apparatus) in a system in which a video signal is transmitted from the source apparatus to the sink apparatus, and the sink apparatus (or the source apparatus) supplies power to the source apparatus (or the sink apparatus).SOLUTION: After detecting that a sink apparatus or a source apparatus is connected to the mating apparatus, supply of standby power is started. After confirming that standby current does not flow or confirming that message exchange can be performed with the mating apparatus even if the supply of standby power is temporarily stopped, the supply of standby power is stopped. 【課題】ソース機器からシンク機器へ映像信号を伝送すると共に、シンク機器(またはソース機器)がソース機器(またはシンク機器)へ電力を供給するシステムにおいて、シンク機器(またはソース機器)が供給する待機電力の省電力化を実現する。【解決手段】シンク機器またはソース機器が相手機器と接続したことを検出して待機電力の供給を開始し、待機電流が流れていないことを確認または、待機電力を一時中断しても相手機器とメッセージ交換ができることを確認して待機電力供給を中止することを特徴とする。【選択図】図1
