Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeder which can reduce noise.SOLUTION: A paper feeder includes: a resist roller 14 which conveys paper PA to a printing part 3; a paper feed roller 12 which conveys the paper PA on a paper feeding table 11 to the resist roller 14; and a control part which starts the resist roller 14 after the paper feed roller 12 is stopped when the paper PA conveyed by the paper feed roller 12 abuts on the resist roller 14 and a predetermined amount of slack is formed on the paper PA, and then starts the paper feed roller 12 and controls so as to maintain constant speed difference between conveyance speed by the resist roller 14 and conveyance speed by the paper feed roller 12 until the slack of the paper PA is eliminated. The control part controls the resist roller 14 and the paper feed roller 12 in response to a paper feed mode selected from a standard mode and a highly-silent mode in which the speed differences between the conveyance speed by the resist roller 14 and the conveyance speed by the paper feed roller 12 at a time point when the slack is eliminated are different from each other. 【課題】騒音を低減できる給紙装置を提供する。【解決手段】給紙装置は、用紙PAを印刷部3へ搬送するレジストローラ14と、給紙台11上の用紙PAをレジストローラ14へ搬送する給紙ローラ12と、給紙ローラ12により搬送される用紙PAがレジストローラ14に突き当たって用紙PAに所定量のたるみが形成されると、給紙ローラ12を停止させた後、レジストローラ14を起動させ、その後、給紙ローラ12を起動させ、用紙PAのたるみが解消されるまでレジストローラ14による搬送速度と給紙ローラ12による搬送速度との速度差が一定となるよう制御する制御部とを備え、制御部は、たるみ解消時点におけるレジストローラ14による搬送速度と給紙ローラ12による搬送速度との速度差が相互に異なる標準モードおよび高静音モードから選択された給紙モードに応じてレジストローラ14および給紙ローラ12を制御する。【選択図】図2
