Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder structure of an internal combustion engine capable of restricting a deformation of a cylinder sleeve caused by a fastening stress or a thermal stress and the like and enabling a stable piston sliding to be carried out.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a cylinder structure of an internal combustion engine in which a cylinder 5 is integrally fastened between a crank case 3 and a cylinder head 6. The cylinder 5 comprises a cylinder sleeve 31 and a cylinder barrel 33 covering a circumference of the cylinder sleeve 31. An annular sleeve thick part 32 is formed at the cylinder sleeve 31 while being protruded in a radial outward direction. At least a part of the cylinder barrel 33 is integrally formed with a barrel thick part 34 that becomes thick toward a circumferential outer direction of the cylinder barrel 33, and the sleeve thick part 32 is installed in a range where at least a part of it overlaps the barrel thick part 34 in an axial direction of the cylinder sleeve 31. 【課題】締付け応力や、熱応力等によるシリンダスリーブの変形を抑制し、安定したピストンの摺動を可能とする内燃機関のシリンダ構造を提供する。【解決手段】シリンダ5がクランクケース3とシリンダヘッド6との間に一体に締付けられた内燃機関のシリンダ構造において、前記シリンダ5は、シリンダスリーブ31と、該シリンダスリーブ31の周囲を覆うシリンダバレル33とを備えている。前記シリンダスリーブ31には、環状のスリーブ厚肉部32が径方向外方に突出して形成され、前記シリンダバレル33の少なくとも一部には、該シリンダバレル33の周方向外方に向って肉厚となるようにバレル厚肉部34が一体に形成され、前記スリーブ厚肉部32は、前記シリンダスリーブ31の軸方向において前記バレル厚肉部34と少なくとも一部が重なる範囲に配設されている。【選択図】図5
