Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar battery capable of reducing complication such as special components used for sealing an electric cell and a separator case, and a battery assembly.SOLUTION: a) This battery assembly has a stack 10 of one or more battery plates which includes one or more bipolar plates, and b) a separator 14 and a liquid electrolyte are disposed between the plates, 1)c) the stack of the battery plates includes a plurality of channels which laterally extend through a plate portion on which a cathode 13 and/or an anode 12 are vapor-deposited, and d)1) has one or more seals 15 around peripheries of the channels, and/or a post 17 disposed in one or more of the channels, and an overlapped portion is provided at each end part of the post, 2)c) a film made of thermoplastic polymer is disposed around a whole periphery of the fringe part of the stack of the plates, and 3) the separator is in the form of a sheet bonded to the periphery.
