Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component including a glass layer that contains a phosphor having low heat resistance, in which performances of the phosphor are maintained while moisture resistance is ensured.SOLUTION: An optical component 10 includes a light-transmitting substrate 12 and a fluorescent glass layer 14. The fluorescent glass layer 14 is formed to wholly cover an upper surface of the light-transmitting substrate 12. The fluorescent glass layer 14 comprises coated particles 16 and high heat-resistant phosphor 18 dispersed in a base layer 19. The coated particles 16 comprise particles of low heat-resistant phosphor 16a partially or wholly coated with a film 16b comprising a first glass. The base layer 19 is a layer made of a second glass having a softening point higher than that of the first glass. The low heat-resistant phosphor 16a less likely degrades when subjected to the temperature of the softening point of the first glass compared to a case when the phosphor is subjected to the temperature of the softening point of the second glass. 【課題】耐熱性の低い蛍光体を含むガラス層を備えた光学部品において、耐湿性を確保しつつ、蛍光体の性能も維持する。【解決手段】光学部品10は、透光性基板12と、蛍光ガラス層14とを備えている。蛍光ガラス層14は、透光性基板12の上面全面を覆うように設けられている。この蛍光ガラス層14は、被覆粒子16と高耐熱性蛍光体18とがベース層19に分散したものである。被覆粒子16は、低耐熱性蛍光体16aの粒子の一部又は全部を第1ガラスからなる膜16bで被覆した粒子である。ベース層19は、第1ガラスよりも軟化点の高い第2ガラスからなる層である。低耐熱性蛍光体16aは、第2ガラスの軟化点の温度に曝されたときと比べて第1ガラスの軟化点の温度に曝されたときの方が劣化しにくいものである。【選択図】図1
