Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid storage container capable of accurately detecting an ink remaining amount at the time when such an amount becomes less than that of a prescribed value, and to provide a liquid discharge device.SOLUTION: An ink tank 1, a part of which is composed of a flexible film 6 comprises an ink chamber 9 capable of storing ink inside, and a detection face 13 positioned inside the ink chamber 9. The flexible film 6 contacts the detection face 13 when the ink in the ink chamber 9 is reduced to or less than a prescribed amount, and the contact area of the flexible film 6 and the detection face 13 increases in one direction accompanying further reduction of the ink in the ink chamber 9. In the contact region of the flexible film 6 and the detection face 13, the light path of light entering from the detection face 13 into the ink chamber 9 changes. 【課題】インク残量が所定値よりも少なくなったときに、そのことをより正確に検知することのできる液体収納容器及び液体吐出装置を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】インクタンク1は、一部が可撓性フィルム6により構成されて、内部にインクを収納可能なインク室9と、インク室9の内部に位置する検出面13と、を備えている。インク室9内のインクが所定量以下に減少したときに、可撓性フィルム6は、検出面13と接触し、インク室9内のインクのさらなる減少に伴って検出面13との接触面積が一方向に増大する。可撓性フィルム6と検出面13とが接触する接触領域では、検出面13からインク室9内に入る光の光路が変化する。【選択図】図5
