Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for encoding a coding unit of a picture boundary.SOLUTION: A method of encoding an image includes, when a current encoding unit does not include a region that deviates from the boundary of a current picture, a step of encoding the current coding unit when split information parsed from a bit stream indicates a non-split of the current coding unit, and, when the current coding unit includes a region that deviates from the boundary of the current picture, a step of determining at least one split coding unit. The current picture is divided into a plurality of maximum coding units. The maximum coding units are split hierarchically by the split information. When the split information indicates a split of a current depth, the current coding unit of the current depth is split into four rectangular coding units of the lower depth, independently from neighboring coding units. When the split information indicates a non-split of the lower depth, one or more prediction units are obtained from a coding unit of the lower depth. 【課題】ピクチャ境界の符号化単位を復号化する方法及びその装置を提供する。【解決手段】映像復号化方法は、現在符号化単位が現在ピクチャの境界を外れた領域を含まない時、ビットストリームからパージングされた分割情報が現在符号化単位が分割されないことを示す時現在符号化単位を復号する段階と、現在符号化単位が現在ピクチャの境界を外れた領域を含む時、分割された少なくとも一つの符号化単位を決定する段階を含む。現在ピクチャは、複数の最大符号化単位に分割され、最大符号化単位は、分割情報によって階層的に分割され、分割情報が現在深度で分割されることを示す時、現在深度の現在符号化単位は隣接符号化単位と独立して正方形の下位深度の符号化単位に4分割され、分割情報が下位深度で分割されないことを示す時、一つ以上の予測単位は下位深度の符号化単位から獲得される。【選択図】図2
