PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an azo compound with excellent solubility and an oily or aqueous dye composition including the same.SOLUTION: There is provided an azo compound having a tetraethylammonium ion which is a metal complex salt of Cr or Co with two molecules of a monoazo compound represented by the formula (4) as a ligand as a counter ion.
