Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for bringing a prime-type pluripotent stem cell to a more undifferentiated state, a method for manufacturing a pluripotent stem cell with improved chimera forming ability from a prime-type pluripotent stem cell, and a method for manufacturing a chimeric animal by using a pluripotent stem cell obtained by the method.SOLUTION: A method includes bringing a prime-type pluripotent stem cell to a Wnt/ -catenin signal suppressed state and a signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signal activated state.
