Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode which enables the materialization of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery superior in life property and rate characteristic.SOLUTION: A negative electrode 5 is provided according to an embodiment. The negative electrode 5 comprises: a negative electrode material layer 5b. The negative electrode material layer 5b includes: negative electrode active material particles 53; and a second conductive assistant 52. The active material particles 53 includes: monoclinic type niobium titanium complex oxide particles 50; and a first conductive assistant 51 on the surfaces of the complex oxide particles 50. The second conductive assistant 52 is located between the active material particles 53. In Raman spectra obtained from Raman spectroscopy on the negative electrode material layer 5b, the first conductive assistant 51 and the second conductive assistant 52 have D band arising in a frequency range of 1300 cm-1400 cm, and G band arising in a frequency range of 1550 cm-1650 cm, respectively. As to the first conductive assistant, the intensity ratio I/Iis within a range of 0.5-1.3. With the second conductive assistant, the intensity ratio I/Iis within a range of 1.5-10. 【課題】寿命特性及びレート特性に優れる非水電解質電池を実現できる負極を提供すること。【解決手段】実施形態によると負極5が提供される。負極5は負極材料層5bを具備する。負極材料層5bは複数の負極活物質粒子53と第2導電助剤52とを含む。複数の活物質粒子53は、単斜晶型ニオブチタン複合酸化物粒子50と複合酸化物粒子50の表面に接している第1導電助剤51とを含む。第2導電助剤52は活物質粒子53間に配されている。第1導電助剤51及び第2導電助剤52は、負極材料層5bからラマン分光法により得られるラマンスペクトルにおいて、1300cm-1〜1400cm-1の振動数領域内に現れるDバンドと現れる1550cm-1〜1650cm-1の振動数領域内に現れるGバンドとそれぞれ有する。第1導電助剤は強度比IG/IDが0.5〜1.3の範囲内にある。第2導電助剤は強度比IG/IDが1.5〜10の範囲内にある。【選択図】 図2
