Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide genetically modified Pichia strains in which polypeptides as target product material do not face barriers of undesired proteolysis and glycosylation; and methods of producing the polypeptides.SOLUTION: In the genetically modified Pichia strains, nucleic acid sequences PEP4, PRB1, YPS1, YPS2, YMP1, YMP2, YMP3 and PMT4 are genetically modified which are responsible for proteolysis and/or glycosylation in the strains and, in particular, encode a functional gene product or expression of the gene product.
