Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimode radio communication device which comprises one radio unit shared by a plurality of communication modes and which can switch communication modes at high speed.SOLUTION: A multimode radio communication device comprises: a radio unit capable of switching communication modes; and a control unit which causes the radio unit to periodically operate in a mobile phone mode and switch to a wireless LAN mode after a prescribed time period. In the multimode radio communication device, when the radio unit detects occurrence of an incoming call event during a period when the radio unit is under a standby reception state in a mobile telephone mode, the control unit restricts switching to the wireless LAN mode and determines whether communication in the mobile phone mode is continued or not. 【課題】複数の通信モードに共用される1つの無線部を備え、通信モードを高速に切替え可能なマルチモード無線通信装置を提供すること。【解決手段】通信モードを切替え可能な無線部と、上記無線部を周期的に携帯電話モードで動作させ、所定時間後に無線LANモードに切替える制御部とからなるマルチモード無線通信装置において、上記制御部が、上記無線部が携帯電話モードで待ち受け受信中に着呼イベントの発生を検出した時、上記無線LANモードへの切替えを抑制して、携帯電話モードでの通信を継続するか否かを判定する。【選択図】図2
