Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To test in a simple way steering characteristics and durability of a steering device that can turn the right and left wheels both in the same direction and in the mutually reverse directions.SOLUTION: A testing machine for steering devices comprises: a motor 2 disposed on an input shaft 1 of a steering device 100 and revolving around the input shaft 1; an angle gauge 3 for measuring the revolving angle of the input shaft 1; a torque meter 4 for measuring the revolution torque imposed on the input shaft 1; an input shaft fixing jig 5 preventing the input shaft 1 from revolving around the shaft; loading devices 6 detachably attached to the right and left ends of rack bars 101 and 102 of the steering device 100 and imposing loads on the rack bars 101 and 102; rack bar fixing jigs 7 preventing the rack bars 101 and 102 from shifting; rotation sensors 107 and 108 measuring the shifting extents of the rack bars 101 and 102; and a load converter 8 measuring the loads imposed on the rack bars 101 and 102. 【課題】左右の車輪を同方向又は逆方向のいずれにも転舵することができるステアリング装置の転舵特性や耐久性の試験を簡便に行うこと。【解決手段】ステアリング装置１００の入力軸１に設けられ、この入力軸１を軸周りに回転するモータ２と、入力軸１の軸周りの回転角を測定する角度計３と、入力軸１に負荷された回転トルクを測定するトルクメータ４と、入力軸１の軸周りの回転を阻止する入力軸固定治具５と、ステアリング装置１００のラックバー１０１、１０２の左右の端部に着脱自在に設けられ、このラックバー１０１、１０２に負荷を与える負荷装置６と、ラックバー１０１、１０２の移動を阻止するラックバー固定治具７と、ラックバー１０１、１０２の移動量を測定する回転センサ１０７、１０８と、ラックバー１０１、１０２に負荷された荷重を測定する荷重変換器８と、を備えたステアリング装置用の試験機を構成する。【選択図】図１
