PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sleep evaluation apparatus capable of accurately evaluating the quality of sleep of a subject.SOLUTION: A sleep evaluation apparatus 100 includes: a body motion detection part 12 for detecting a body motion of a user 1 on bedding 2; a sleep-wakefulness determination part 13 for determining whether or not the user 1 is sleeping on the basis of the detected body motion; a storage part 14 for sequentially storing the result of the determination by the sleep-wakefulness determination part 13, associating it with time information indicating the time; a sleep time calculation part 15 for calculating the sleep time of the user 1 by selecting one from a plurality of determination results on the basis of a predetermined selection condition when the determination result indicating that the user 1 is sleeping, stored in the storage part 14 is discontinuous; and a sleep state evaluation part 16 for evaluating a sleep state of the user 1 using the sleep time calculated by the sleep time calculation part 15. 【課題】被験者の睡眠の質を正確に評価することが可能な睡眠評価装置を提供する。【解決手段】睡眠評価装置１００は、寝具２上の利用者１の体動を検出する体動検出部１２と、検出された体動に基づいて、利用者１が睡眠中であるか否かを判定する睡眠覚醒判定部１３と、当該睡眠覚醒判定部１３による判定結果を、時刻を示す時刻情報と関連付けて順次記憶していく記憶部１４と、当該記憶部１４に記憶されている、利用者１が睡眠中であることを示す判定結果が不連続である場合、予め設定された選択条件に基づいて複数の判定結果の中から１つを選択して利用者１の睡眠時間を算定する睡眠時間算定部１５と、当該睡眠時間算定部１５により算定された睡眠時間を用いて利用者１の睡眠状態を評価する睡眠状態評価部１６と、を備える。【選択図】図１
