Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of improving efficiency of grinding processing in cutting of a disk-like glass substrate out of a glass plate using a core drill, and a method of suppressing chipping of the glass substrate.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of cutting a glass substrate in which a disk-like substrate is cut out of a glass plate using a core drill. The core drill has cylindrical grinding parts 42, 52 having abrasive grains 60 fixed with a binder 70, and the grinding parts 42, 52 each have a tip part 80 where the abrasive grains 60 and binder 70 are exposed, and side face parts 82, 83 which each have a protective film 90 formed on a surface of the binder 70 on the side face of the cylindrical shape, the abrasive grain content of the grinding parts 42, 52 being 6-15% in volume percentage. 【課題】コアドリルを用いてガラス板から円盤状ガラス基板を切断する際の研削加工の加工効率の向上方法、及びガラス基板のチッピングの抑制方法を提供する。【解決手段】コアドリルを用いてガラス板から円盤状ガラス基板を切断するガラス基板の切断方法であって、前記コアドリルは、砥粒60を結合剤70で固定した円筒形状の研削部42,52を有し、前記研削部42,52は、前記砥粒60及び前記結合剤70が表出した先端部80と、前記円筒形状の側面の前記結合剤70の表面に保護膜90を形成した側面部82,83と、を有し、前記研削部42,52の砥粒含有量が体積比率6%〜15%であるガラス基板の切断方法が提供される。【選択図】図7
