PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a possibility that when receiving a remote control signal from an external device which receives a signal on which a carrier signal is superimposed, it may be impossible to perform processing corresponding to the remote control signal.SOLUTION: The reception device connected to an external device which receives a remote control signal on which a carrier signal is superimposed, and outputs the remote control signal including the carrier signal or an external device which receives the remote control signal on which the carrier signal is superimposed, and outputs the remote control signal not including the carrier signal includes: a reception part which receives the remote control signal including the carrier signal or the remote control signal not including the carrier signal from the external device; a removal part which outputs a signal obtained by removing a signal component equivalent to the carrier signal from the reception signal of the reception part; and an arithmetic part which calculates the logical sum of the reception signal of the reception part and the output signal of the removal part, and outputs the arithmetic result. 【課題】キャリア信号が重畳された信号を受信する外部装置からリモコン信号を受信する場合に、リモコン信号に応じた処理が行なうことができなくなる可能性を低減する。【解決手段】本発明の受信装置は、キャリア信号が重畳されたリモコン信号を受信し、前記キャリア信号を含む前記リモコン信号を出力する外部装置、もしくは、前記キャリア信号が重畳されたリモコン信号を受信し、前記キャリア信号を含まない前記リモコン信号を出力する外部装置と接続され、該外部装置から、前記キャリア信号を含む前記リモコン信号、もしくは、前記キャリア信号を含まない前記リモコン信号を受信する受信部と、前記受信部の受信信号から前記キャリア信号に相当する信号成分を除去した信号を出力する除去部と、前記受信部の受信信号と前記除去部の出力信号との論理和を演算し、演算結果を出力する演算部と、を有する。【選択図】図７
