Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery superior in output characteristic.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: an electrode body having a positive electrode plate 1 including a positive electrode core 1a and a positive electrode mixture layer 1c formed on the surface of the positive electrode core, and a negative electrode plate, including a negative electrode core and a negative electrode mixture layer formed on the surface of the negative electrode core; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode mixture layer 1c includes a lithium transition metal complex oxide. The negative electrode mixture layer includes a negative electrode active material which lithium ions can be absorbed by and desorbed from. The positive electrode plate 1 has a thickness of 60 μm or less, and the negative electrode plate has a thickness of 65 μm or less. The thickness of the positive electrode core 1a is 22-27% of the thickness of the positive electrode plate 1. The thickness of the negative electrode core is 12-15% of the thickness of the negative electrode plate.
