Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective layer forming device that can stably supply a constant amount of protective agent over a long period at a low applied pressure to an image carrier without deterioration or rupture of a protective agent supply member.SOLUTION: A protective layer forming device has a powdery image carrier protective agent that comprises a granulated material including a fatty acid metal salt and inorganic lubricant, and a roller-shape protective agent supply member that supplies the powdery image carrier protective agent to the surface of an image carrier. A preferable embodiment of the granulated material is where the median size (D50) in a volume reference particle size distribution, which has been obtained by measuring by a laser diffraction scattering type particle size distribution measurement method, is 50 μm or more and 1,100 μm or less.
【課題】保護剤供給部材が劣化乃至破壊することなく、像担持体に対して低い加圧力で長期に亘り一定量の保護剤を安定に供給できる保護層形成装置等の提供。【解決手段】脂肪酸金属塩及び無機潤滑剤を含む造粒物からなる粉体状の像担持体保護剤と、前記粉体状の像担持体保護剤を像担持体表面に供給するローラ状の保護剤供給部材と、を有する保護層形成装置である。前記造粒物における、レーザー回折散乱式粒度分布測定法により測定して得られた体積基準粒度分布によるメジアン径(D50)が、50μm以上1,100μm以下である態様、などが好ましい。【選択図】図6A |
