Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve device capable of achieving reduction in size, reduction in weight and low cost.SOLUTION: A valve device 1 drives a valve body 31 via an operation member 33 by expansion deformation of a contraction type polymer gel actuator 10. A direction in which the operation member 33 moves forward and backward is a direction orthogonal to a direction in which a cathode plate 11 and an anode plate 13 move forward and backward, and between the cathode plate 11, the anode plate 13 and the operation member 33, power transmission parts 41, 43 are provided for converting the forward and backward movement of the cathode plate 11 and the anode plate 13 into the forward and backward movement of the operation member 33 and transmitting it. When the cathode plate 11 and the anode plate 13 move in an approaching direction by application of a voltage to the polymer gel actuator 10, the operation member 33 is pushed toward the valve body 31 side via the power transmission parts 41, 43. 【課題】小型化、軽量化、及び低コスト化を図ることが可能なバルブ装置を提供する。【解決手段】収縮型の高分子ゲルアクチュエータ10の伸縮変形により作動部材33を介して弁体31を駆動するバルブ装置1であって、作動部材31が進退移動する方向は、陰極板11及び陽極板13が進退移動する方向に対して直交する方向であり、陰極板11及び陽極板13と作動部材33との間には、陰極板11及び陽極板13の進退移動を作動部材33の進退移動に変換して伝達する動力伝達部41,43が設けられている。高分子ゲルアクチュエータ10への電圧の印加によって陰極板11と陽極板13が接近する方へ移動すると、動力伝達部41,43を介して作動部材33が弁体31側へ押し出されるように構成した。【選択図】図1
