PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid anesthetic for fishes by utilizing carbon dioxide derived from sodium hydrogen carbonate, in which whether an anesthetic effect of the solid anesthetic for fishes has been lost by the anesthetic absorbing moisture in the air or the like during storage or not is easily discriminated, and technique relating to a method for manufacturing the same and a method for discriminating an expiration date of the solid anesthetic for fishes.SOLUTION: Provided is the solid anesthetic for fishes, with which an expiration date can be discriminated by color tone change of water-soluble pigment, comprises sodium hydrogen carbonate, organic acid (e.g., succinic acid), and water-soluble pigment which is a food additive (e.g., cochineal extract). The solid anesthetic for fishes is characterized in that the water-soluble pigment exists on a part of the surface of the anesthetic for fishes so that color tone change of the water-soluble pigment can be observed with the naked eye. Also provided are a method for manufacturing the solid anesthetic for fishes, and a method for discriminating an expiration date of the solid anesthetic for fishes, which solve problems with conventional anesthetics for fishes. 【課題】炭酸水素ナトリウム由来の炭酸ガスを利用した固形状の魚類用麻酔剤が保管中に空気中などの水分を吸湿することで該固形状魚類麻酔剤の麻酔効果が消失したかどうかを簡単に判別することができる固形状魚類用麻酔剤及びその製造方法並びに該固形状魚類用麻酔剤の使用期限の判別方法に関する技術を提供する。【解決手段】水溶性色素の色調変化によって使用期限を判別することのできる固形状魚類用麻酔剤であって、炭酸水素ナトリウムと、有機酸（例えばコハク酸）、食品添加物である水溶性色素（例えばコチニ-ル色素）とを含有し、該水溶性色素の色調変化が肉眼で観察できるように該魚類用麻酔剤の表面の一部分に該水溶性色素が存在することを特徴とする固形状魚類用麻酔剤及びその製造方法並びに該固形状魚類用麻酔剤の使用期限の判別方法により解決する。【選択図】図１
