Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a UV tube, capable of controlling a deflection of an anode electrode caused during a laser welding process, and to provide a UV tube capable of stabilizing discharge characteristics.SOLUTION: In a process for laser welding one end parts of kovar wires 18a-18c to through holes 17a-17c of an anode electrode 15, a laser beam is irradiated on a position shifted in a same direction from center parts of end face parts 19a-19c of the kovar wires 18a-18c to a center part of the anode electrode 15 along a surface 20 of the anode electrode 15, respectively. Thus, by controlling a direction in which melted kovar flows, a deflection of the anode electrode 15 after having been welded can be controlled. 【課題】レーザー溶接の工程で生じるアノード電極のたわみを制御することができるUVチューブの製造方法を提供する。また、放電特性を安定させることができるUVチューブを提供する。【解決手段】アノード電極15の貫通孔17a〜17cにコバール線18a〜18cの一端部をレーザー溶接する工程において、コバール線18a〜18cの端面部19a〜19cの中心部から、アノード電極15の表面20に沿ってアノード電極15の中心部に対してそれぞれ同じ方向にずらした位置にレーザー光を照射する。これにより、溶融したコバールが流れる方向を制御することで、溶接後のアノード電極15のたわみを制御する。【選択図】図1
