Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spherical silica having a high oil absorption amount, a spherical particle shape and a uniform particle size.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a spherical silica comprises: (1) extruding an alkaline silicate aqueous solution including one or more kinds of salts selected from a group consisting of a chloride, sulfate, nitrate and fluoride through a minute hole part formed in a partition in an organic solvent flowing into a flow passage divided by the partition to manufacture a water-in-oil type emulsion; (2) gelling the water-in-oil type emulsion to form a silica hydrogel; (3) aging the silica hydrogel; and (4) drying the aged silica hydrogel. 【課題】吸油量が高く、粒子形状が球状であり、粒子径が均一な球状シリカを提供する。【解決手段】(1)隔壁で区画された流路中を流れる有機溶媒中に、隔壁に形成した微小孔部を通して、塩化物、硫酸塩、硝酸塩及びフッ化物からなる群より選ばれる塩の1種以上を含むケイ酸アルカリ水溶液を押し出して、油中水型エマルションを作製する工程、(2)油中水型エマルションをゲル化しシリカヒドロゲルを形成する工程、(3)シリカヒドロゲルを熟成する工程、及び(4)熟成したシリカヒドロゲルを乾燥する工程を有する球状シリカの製造方法である。【選択図】図1
