PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer which enables simplification of the structure when including two tube pumps.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer includes: a head 110 having a nozzle 112 that discharges an ink to a recording medium; a first tube pump 120 for supplying the ink stored in an ink tank 180 to the head 110; a second tube pump 130 for suctioning the ink from a discharge port of the nozzle 112; and a driving source 160 which rotates a driving shaft 140 which is used for both of the first tube pump 120 and the second tube pump 130. The first tube pump 120 supplies the ink to the head 110 when the driving source 160 rotates the driving shaft 140 in a first rotation direction. The second tube pump 130 suctions the ink from the discharge port of the nozzle 112 when the driving source 160 rotates the driving shaft 140 in a second rotation direction that is opposite to the first rotation direction. 【課題】２つのチューブポンプを備える場合に、その構造を簡素化することができるインクジェットプリンタを提供する。【解決手段】記録媒体にインクを吐出するノズル１１２を有するヘッド１１０と、インクタンク１８０に蓄えられたインクをヘッド１１０に供給するための第１チューブポンプ１２０と、ノズル１１２の吐出口からインクを吸引するための第２チューブポンプ１３０と、第１チューブポンプ１２０および第２チューブポンプ１３０に共通の駆動軸１４０を回転させる駆動源１６０とを備え、第１チューブポンプ１２０は、駆動源１６０が駆動軸１４０を第１回転方向に回転させたときに、ヘッド１１０にインクを供給し、第２チューブポンプ１３０は、駆動源１６０が駆動軸１４０を第１回転方向と逆の第２回転方向に回転させたときに、ノズル１１２の吐出口からインクを吸引する。【選択図】図２
