Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a window unit having excellent durability in the case where flying objects (chips, for example) which could be generated during machining by a machine tool collide on the unit.SOLUTION: A window unit 1 is installed to a machining center 10, and used for viewing a processing region S1 of the machining center 10 in that state, or taking light into the processing region S1. The window unit 1 comprises: a plate member 21 composed of polycarbonate-based resin; a transparent first substrate 2a having a hard coat layer 22 formed on one surface side of the plate member 21; and a transparent second substrate 2b arranged in a facing manner to the first substrate 2a via a middle layer 5.
