Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector that includes a light source device emitting light in a narrow wavelength band, and can project images with suppressed unevenness in brightness and unevenness in colors.SOLUTION: A projector includes a light source device, a light modulation device that modulates light emitted from the light source device according to image information, and a projection optical system that projects the light modulated in the light modulation device. The light source device emits first light La in a narrow wavelength band having a first wavelength λ1 in which the intensity of light peaks, and second light Lb in a narrow wavelength band having a second wavelength λ2 in which the intensity of light peaks, where the distance between the first wavelength λ1 and second wavelength λ2 is more than 1/4 and less than 3/4 of the wavelength of one cycle of ripples located in wavelength areas of the first light La and second light Lb, of the ripples included in the spectral spectrum of reflection light of light made incident on the light modulation device.
