Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst system which has a lower pressure loss and more favorable heat removing effect and stably produces 1,2-dichloroethane for a long period of time and to provide a method for producing 1,2-dichloroethane using the same.SOLUTION: There are provided: a catalyst system for producing 1,2-dichloroethane which is composed of an oxychlorination catalyst having a hollow cylindrical shape and a graphite diluent having a hollow cylindrical shape and is used in an oxychlorination catalytic reaction process comprising a fixed bed circulation-type catalytic reaction tower for producing 1,2-dichloroethane from ethylene, hydrogen chloride and air; and a method for producing 1,2-dichloroethane using the same.
