Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press molding method of an outer plate panel for an automobile which is suitable to impart a sharp character line.SOLUTION: In a press molding method of an outer plate panel for an automobile, the outer plate panel for an automobile is press-molded from a material plate by using a press die which comprises: a die having a concave processed face and making the innermost portion of the concave processed face a valley line part; a punch having a convex processed face adaptable to the concave processed face and making the most protruding portion of the convex processed face a ridge line part; and a wrinkle holder for holding the material plate between the die and punch. A lining layer made of an elastic body is provided on an outside surface of the die in a vicinity of a line displacement generating side with respect to at least the valley line part. In cooperation with the die and wrinkle holder, the punch deforms the material plate while elastically deforming the lining layer at a punch bottom dead point closest to the die, and thereby press-molding the outer plate panel for an automobile. 【課題】シャープなキャラクタラインを付与するのに適した自動車用外板パネルのプレス成形方法を提案する。【解決手段】凹状加工面を有しその凹状加工面の最も奥まった部分を谷線部とするダイと、前記凹状加工面に適合可能な凸状加工面を有し、その凸状加工面の最も突き出した部分を稜線部とするパンチと、前記ダイおよび前記パンチの間に素材板を保持するしわ押さえと、を備えたプレス金型にて、前記素材板から自動車用外板パネルをプレス成形する自動車用外板パネルのプレス成形方法において、前記ダイの、少なくとも前記谷線部に対し線ずれ発生側の近傍域の外表面に弾性体よりなるライニング層を設け、前記パンチが前記ダイおよび前記しわ押さえとの共働で、前記ダイに最も近接するパンチ下死点にて前記ライニング層を弾性変形させつつ前記素材板を変形させて前記自動車用外板パネルをプレス成形するものである。【選択図】図4
