PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the inclination movement range of rocking without increasing a member configuration.SOLUTION: A rocking mechanism for a chair includes: a main frame 1; a seat reception member 2 swingably connected to the main frame 1; a back support frame 3 swingably connected to the main frame 1 and also turnably connected to the seat reception member 2; and a fluid spring 11 having a cylinder 11a and a shaft 11b and held between the main frame 1 and the back support frame 3. The rocking mechanism also includes a stopper member 14 that is held between the cylinder 11a of the fluid spring 11 and the main frame 1 or a member supported and connected by the main frame 1 and restricts the contraction of the fluid spring 11 before the fluid spring 11 is perfectly contracted. 【課題】部材構成を増やすことなく、ロッキングの傾動範囲を規制することができるようにする。【解決手段】メインフレーム１と、メインフレーム１と揺動可能に連結される座受部材２と、メインフレーム１と揺動可能に連結されると共に座受部材２と回動可能に連結される背支持フレーム３と、シリンダー１１ａ及びシャフト１１ｂを有してメインフレーム１と背支持フレーム３との間に介在する流体スプリング１１とを備え、流体スプリング１１のシリンダー１１ａとメインフレーム１若しくはメインフレーム１に支持・連結される部材との間に介在して流体スプリング１１が完全に収縮する前に当該流体スプリング１１の収縮を規制するストッパ部材１４が設けられるようにした。【選択図】図１
