Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for preventing light leakage by preventing a front cabinet of a thin display device having an intermediate chassis, the front cabinet, and a back light chassis (a back chassis) fastened together with a side face screw, from being opened.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal television 10 has a panel arrangement surface 41a of an intermediate chassis 40 in parallel with a display panel 11. A fixed surface 41b, on the other hand, is perpendicular to the display panel 11. Namely, the panel arrangement surface 41a and the fixed surface 41b are perpendicular to each other. In the absence of an inclined rib 53, an inner surface part of a side face part 22 is a horizontal plane Lh. The inclined rib 53, however, is present, so the inner surface part of the side face part 22 is a plane Lx inclined at a predetermined angle . Consequently, a main-body front part 21 rotates by the predetermined angle , and then an end part 21a is energized to approach the display panel 11. Owing to a screw 90 fixed, the main-body front part 21 of a front cabinet 20 is prevented from being improperly opened. 【課題】中間シャーシ、フロントキャビネット及びバックライトシャーシ(背面シャーシ)とを側面ネジ(側面ビス)で共締めする薄型表示装置において、フロントキャビネットの開きを防止し光漏れを防止する技術を提供する。【解決手段】液晶テレビ10では、中間シャーシ40のパネル配置面41aは表示パネル11に対して平行になっている。一方、固定面41bは表示パネル11に対して垂直になっている。つまり、パネル配置面41aと固定面41bとは垂直になっている。傾斜リブ53が無い場合、側面部22の内面部分は水平面Lhになる。しかし、傾斜リブ53が有るため、側面部22の内面部分は所定角度 傾いた面Lxになる。その結果、本体前面部21はその所定角 だけ回転し端部21aが表示パネル11に近づくように付勢される。ネジ90による固定にともなって、フロントキャビネット20の本体前面部21が不適切に開いてしまうことが防止できる。【選択図】図7
