Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact member configured to prevent a cross section of an image holding body from being periodically deformed, an image holding body and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: Contact sections 136 in contact with an inner peripheral surface 108A of a cylindrical body 108 in a contact member 116 are formed in three directions on an outer peripheral surface 118. Even if the cross section of the cylindrical body 108 is to be elliptically deformed due to periodic electrostatic attraction generated between an image holding body 56 and a charging roll 58, the cross section of the cylindrical body 108 can be prevented from being elliptically deformed by the contact sections 136 formed in the three directions. In charging a surface of the image holding body by the charging roll, the cross section of the cylindrical body 108 is prevented from being periodically deformed. 【課題】像保持体の断面が周期的に変形するのを抑制することができる接触部材、像保持体、画像形成装置を得る。【解決手段】接触部材１１６において筒体１０８の内周面１０８Ａに接する接触部１３６は、外周面１１８の３方向に形成されている。像保持体５６と帯電ロール５８との間に生じる周期的な静電吸引力より、筒体１０８の断面が楕円形状に変形しようとする場合であっても、３方向の接触部１３６によって筒体１０８の断面が楕円形状に変形するのが抑制される。換言すれば、帯電ロールにより像保持体の表面が帯電される際に、筒体１０８の断面が周期的に変形するのが抑制される。【選択図】図１
