Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a cellulose derivative fine particle that has a small particle size and is hydrophilic; and a liquid dispersion and dispersoid thereof, as well as to provide a diagnostic that is excellent in storage stability, does not require redundant components such as an emulsifier and surfactant, and that is composed of hydrophilic particles.SOLUTION: Provided is a cellulose derivative fine particle that is characterized in: comprising a cellulose derivative having a portion of cellulose hydroxyl group substituted with substituent; and having an average particle size of 9 to 1000 nm, as well as provided is a diagnostic that comprises the cellulose derivative fine particles having a substance that specifically binds to a test object material, supported thereon.
