PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool path curve forming device that stores information on a curve generated on the basis of a point sequence representing a tool path and generates a desired curve by using the information at a place where similarity of the curve is required.SOLUTION: A tool path curve forming device 1 for performing tool path curve forming by repeating a procedure that takes out a part of a point sequence representing a tool path of a tool for processing a workpiece as a partial point sequence to generate a partial curve, comprises a segment curve information storage unit 50 for storing, with respect to a segment curve that is individual curve section constituting the tool path, the number of partial curves included in the segment curve, a tangential direction at an end point of the segment curve, and segment curve information composed of at least one of a partial curve length of each partial curve and the number of points of the partial point sequence and partial curve information including information that mathematically defines the partial curve, and generates the partial curve by using the segment curve information. 【課題】工具経路を表す点列をもとに生成した曲線の情報を記憶し、曲線の類似性が求められる箇所で、この情報を利用して所望の曲線を生成する工具経路曲線化装置を提供する。【解決手段】加工物を加工する工具の工具経路を表わす点列からその一部を部分点列として取り出して部分曲線を生成する手続きを繰り返して工具経路を曲線化する工具経路曲線化装置１は、工具経路を構成する個々の曲線区間である区分曲線に対して、該区分曲線が含む部分曲線の数と、区分曲線の終点における接線方向と、各部分曲線の部分曲線長と部分点列の点数の少なくとも一つと前記部分曲線を数学的に定義する情報を含む部分曲線情報から成る区分曲線情報を記憶する区分曲線情報記憶部５０を備え、前記区分曲線情報を利用して部分曲線を生成する。【選択図】図１
