PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction head and vacuum cleaner having an excellent removal performance of dust even on a carpet or the like despite of low power consumption of the vacuum cleaner.SOLUTION: A suction head 1 includes a bottom 20 opposite to a cleaned surface, a suction opening 10 in the bottom 20, a connector 4 connecting to the vacuum cleaner body side, and a suction chamber 21 communicating the suction opening 10 and the connector 4. The suction chamber 21 has a wall part 24 rising from the suction opening 10. A wall part 24 has side wall parts 24b, 24b on both ends side in the width direction of the suction head 1. The side wall parts 24b, 24b have a plate-shaped end part 10b on the suction opening 10 side. 【課題】 電気掃除機の低い消費電力でありながらカーペット等においても優れた塵埃の除去性能を有する吸込ヘッド及び電気掃除機を提供する。【解決手段】 本発明の吸込ヘッド１は、被清掃面に対向する底部２０と、底部２０に開口する吸込開口部１０と、電気掃除機本体側に接続する継手４と、吸込開口部１０と継手４とを連通する吸込室２１と、を有する吸込ヘッド１である。吸込室２１は、吸込開口部１０から上方へ立上る壁部２４を有する。壁部２４は、吸込ヘッド１の幅方向両端側に側壁部２４ｂ，２４ｂを有する。側壁部２４ｂ、２４ｂは、吸込開口部１０側の端部１０ｂが板状に構成される。【選択図】図５
