Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL display device high in luminous efficiency and capable of displaying light by extracting it with low power consumption.SOLUTION: This organic EL display device includes an organic layer comprising a plurality of layers containing a luminescent layer made of a light emitting organic material, and a color filter passing light having a prescribed wavelength region among light emitted from the luminescent layer. The organic layer has a first organic layer 326 disposed in a first region composed of a plurality of independent regions in a display region while having the luminescent layer emitting light having one wavelength region, and a second organic layer 327 disposed in a second region that is different from the first region in the display region and is composed of a plurality of independent regions while having the luminescent layer emitting light having a wavelength region different from the first organic layer. The color filter has a first color filter 304 and a second color filter 306 disposed in different sub-pixels while each passing light having different wavelength regions as to light emitted from the luminescent layer of the first organic layer. 【課題】発光効率が高く、低消費電力で光を取り出して表示することのできる有機EL表示装置を提供する。【解決手段】有機EL表示装置は、発光する有機材料からなる発光層を含む複数の層からなる有機層と、発光層から出射された光のうち、所定の波長領域の光を通過させるカラーフィルタと、を備え、有機層は、表示領域において複数の独立した領域からなる第1領域に配置され、一の波長領域の光を発光する発光層を有する第1有機層326と、表示領域において第1領域とは異なる領域であり、複数の独立した領域からなる第2領域に配置され、第1有機層とは異なる波長領域の光を発光する発光層を有する第2有機層327と、を有し、カラーフィルタは、異なる副画素に配置され、第1有機層の発光層から出射される光についてそれぞれ異なる波長領域の光を通過させる第1カラーフィルタ304及び第2カラーフィルタ306を有している。【選択図】図4
